TQC Stoke is an independant Audi, Volkswagen, SEAT and Skoda garage for servicing, diagnostics and repair. They are based in Stoke-on-Trent, covering Staffordshire and Cheshire.
The site was certainly in need of a cosmetic update, the screenshot below shows what TQC looked like before I developed the new theme. I worked with the awesome Sarah Dixon from greetingsfromsarah.com who designed the new site and iconography.
A huge flaw in the original website was the fact that it was not mobile responsive. This has a great effect on SEO and will turn a lot of potential customers away.
I added breakpoints to the CSS for three different sizes, mobile, tablet and desktop. The site now looks great on all devices and is very easy to navigate.
Fool Proof Admin Area
Most of the sites content was out of date and only someone with the technical knowledge could make changes. It was important for the client to be able to easily edit content without the need to hire a web developer.
I decided to use “Advanced Custom Fields” (ACF) WordPress development plugin to customise the admin area.
Everything is now super easy to edit with well written headings and descriptions of what everything does.
Search Engine Optimization
I made sure that all the basic SEO standards were followed and installed the Yoast plugin to deal with Sitemap changes. The Yoast Plugin is also a great tool for writing great content.
As mentioned above, making the website mobile repsonsive was a huge SEO improvement as Google rankings prefer mobile ready sites.
