Revolutionising the In-Store Experience at Lounge

In fashion retail, a strong in-store experience matters. Lounge, a well-known underwear brand, had a clear idea for improving the customer experience in store. We helped turn that idea into two focused Android apps.

Project Overview

Lounge's first permanent store launch was a big moment for the brand, and they wanted technology to play a visible part in the experience. The goal was to make the store more engaging without overcomplicating it.

The result was two simple, effective Android applications.

The Mannequin App

The first app enabled Lounge to display a carousel of images featuring models wearing the outfits displayed on in-store mannequins. Customers could explore the different looks and envision themselves in Lounge's stylish designs.

The Fitting Room App

The second app focused on Lounge's fitting rooms. We developed an Android app for tablets that hosted video tutorials on how to properly fit a bra. It gave customers useful guidance while they were shopping.

Expanding Retail Presence and Technology

Since the launch of these apps, Lounge has expanded into multiple permanent stores in the UK. You can visit their website here to find their current retail stores. As Lounge expands into Germany, they have also requested a German version of the Fitting Room app for that market.

Outcomes

  • Supported a major retail launch: The apps played a visible role in Lounge's first permanent store, helping bring the in-store concept to life.
  • Delivered two focused in-store tools: One app helped customers explore mannequin outfits, while the other provided fitting guidance in the changing rooms.
  • Kept the experience simple and useful: The software added value in store without overcomplicating the customer journey or distracting from the retail experience.
  • Created a base for wider rollout: The work continued beyond the initial launch, including a German version of the fitting room app for expansion into that market.

Conclusion

Working with Lounge was a good example of how focused software can support a physical retail space. These custom apps played a central role in the brand's first permanent store and helped bring their in-store concept to life.

Projects like this are a reminder that apps do not need to be complex to be useful. Smaller, more straightforward tools can still make a real impact.

Where can I see the apps?

You can find Lounge's latest retail store information on their store page, which is the best place to check current locations and visit a store to see the apps in action.
